This week, Mini sorta-kinda revealed its newest model, the two-seat 2012 Cooper Coupe, with just an appetizer of information and images that show the car still wrapped in a bit of camouflage. Already, the internet is buzzing about the price tag that'll hang from the standard Cooper Coupe, sportier Cooper S Coupe, and high-output John Cooper Works Coupe. The speculation originated on a bunch of Italian sites, but we've confirmed with Mini that it has not yet released official pricing on the Coupe for any market. While we were waiting for a call back, though, we couldn't help but whip out the calculator and crunch a few numbers just for fun.

We compared our current Cooper hardtop prices with the going rate for each in Italy, and then applied applied the conversion to the rumored Italian pricing for the coupes. Not surprisingly, the figures land right where Mini said they would, right between the respective hardtop and convertible models. The Coupe estimate landed at $23,300, the Coupe S at about $26,700, and the JCW Coupe nearly 33 large. With production commencing just about a month from now, be on the lookout for the full rundown of Coupe info, as well as real pricing, soon.
