Gordon Murray Design, the firm behind the unique T.25 city car, recently unveiled the electric T.27 at the Royal Automobile Club in London. Essentially an electric T.25, the T.27 features a rear-mounted 34-hp electric motor and 12-kWh lithium-ion battery pack in place of the T.25′s fuel tank and 660-cc three-cylinder engine.  Gordon Murray Design claims the T.27 can travel around 100 miles on a single charge, and that it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in "less than 15 seconds." Interestingly, the gas-powered T.25 was claimed to require more than 16 seconds to reach 60 mph, but it can huff and puff on to a 90-mph top speed while the T.27 tops out at just 65. There is still no word as to when or where the T.25 and T.27 will go on sale, but for now, the man behind the McLaren F1 has two potential Smart Fortwo competitors waiting in the wings.
